A Day in the Life

Fair weather cumulus clouds grace this picture for Skywatch Friday. It marks the end of July and the warm weather the Northwest and Bend, Oregon, has been experiencing. The following days will bring increasing moisture and the chance of such clouds building into thunderheads. With that comes lightning and extreme fire danger and the inevitable blaze. Yet nature shows such resiliency. At first there are small grasses, followed by madrone, and then up pop the small pine trees as seen above. This picture shows both serenity and vitality in balance.

What a terrific shot, Lee! Love the clouds and blue sky! And we have had the heat, haven't we? Hope we get a break soon, wouldn't want any forest fires at this point.

Have a great weekend!

Neat shot. I love the big puffy clouds. We have been having thunderheads building in the east. So strikes in the mountains but no rain this way. At least we are still green. MB

We are still waiting for the warm weather here, and dry days. One thing we don't have to worry about are forest fires. Living near a nature reserve that would worry me. Beautiful image.

Lovely, Lee. Glad to hear that cooler weather is on the way. Not for us, though. August is one of the hottest and most humid months...

Interesting how "Mother Nature" can be very whimsical and violent one minute and peaceful and serene the next...

Keeps us on our toes, that's for sure!

Thank you for the cornflowers! ;-)
This is my kind of Oregon. It reminds me of the Blue Mountains. I hope the fires are kept at bay for as long as possible, better still, a year without forest fires. They have already started in the south of France and Corsica, so much destruction.
