cooling down
A cool low pressure system from the Gulf of Alaska has brought moist unstable weather into the Pacific Northwest sending a blast of Arctic air over the region. A few snow showers have fallen on the Cascades, giving a prelude to the approaching winter's weather. This shot, taken from Wickiup Reservoir, about 30 miles Southwest of Bend, Oregon seems suitable for Skywatch Friday. The air has become brisk and brown and withered leaves dance erratically along the ground. Lost in thought, I stuck my chilled hands in my sweatshirt pocket and recalled how, just last week, I clutched a chocolate shake in them. Tomorrow I'll look for my ice scraper and be sure it's in the car.

Such beauty. Amazing capture!
Now taht is a mirror image and so beautiful.
In spite of what's coming, it sure is beautiful now.
Oh my, oh my that's so beautiful. I've been told by friends in WA that the nights were really cold now, so don't catch your death!
I like watching the sky in the water here. That's really beautiful with the slight rippling effect in the reflection. Funny you should mention the chocolate shake thing. Shakes, frappucinos, and mocha brain freezes are all I could think about a week or so ago, and now I feel like I *am* one!
hey lee...
great shots! do you mind if i display some of your photos and link your site from my blog?

thanks for sharing the small glimpses...
Beautiful shot lee !! Great post..Unseen Rajasthan
That's a beautiful shot. I love the mirror image effect of the mountain reflected in the water. It's finally cooling down here too, but everything is relative. That means it gets into the high 80s in the afternoons, which is a lot better than over 100 like last week. The seasons are about two months behind you here--our mountains won't start looking like that until December!
Nice.
